A Global Stage at Osaka Expo 2025

Cowka was selected to represent Indonesia at the Rolling Exhibition in the Indonesian Pavilion during the World Expo Osaka 2025.

At the exhibition, we showcased our journey of transforming cow dung into sustainable design materials — turning waste into meaningful, handcrafted objects that reflect Indonesia’s spirit of innovation and care for the environment.

We chose a clean, minimalist approach for our display, placing the spotlight entirely on the finished furniture. We wanted the organic curves, smooth finishes, and sturdy construction to take center stage. But our origin story was always right there, waiting to be uncovered. Watching people run their hands over the surfaces, look a little closer, and slowly realize that these elegant pieces were born from upcycled waste created a wonderful, interactive moment of discovery.

Those small moments of discovery led to some really nice, grounded conversations. Once visitors learned what the furniture was actually made of, the questions naturally followed. People were simply curious. We spent our days chatting with visitors from all over about how agricultural waste could be transformed into something so solid and natural. It was reassuring to see that a sustainable idea from us could resonate so easily with an international crowd, without needing to overcomplicate things.
